Last weekend students from San Marino High School painted 2 of the winning designs from the Skid Row Mural contest at VOALA’s Ballington Plaza. Local mural artist Kris Garard oversaw the project. Using color and design, Kris and the students brought the healing energy of art in to our veteran’s garden on Skid Row.
Thank you Kris, Mark Teshirogi, and VOALA board member George Braunegg for putting this amazing project together. And thanks to all the students who participated; these murals will bring joy to the veterans who are working to transition out of homelessness and in to self-sufficiency at Ballington Plaza.
