Loyola High School Skid Row Cleanup Day

loyola fathers clubOn Saturday, February 11, Loyola High School Fathers and Sons volunteered their day to work with us at three of our facilities on Skid Row. Landscaping, mural prep, cleaning, scrubbing and power washing gave VOALA a brighter shine this weekend.

Skid Row is an overwhelming place. Our guests saw, first hand, the need that exists so close to their school. They spoke with VOALA staff, some former clients, some with a Masters of social work, whose passion about their work helps others on their journey back to self-sufficiency.

We are appreciative of our ongoing partnership with Loyola High School. Their commitment to teaching young men to be of service is remarkable. Our guests learned that hard times can fall upon anyone. Together we are teaching our future leaders the importance of charity, and taking care of those in need.
